Description | It is not possible for the Royal Society to continue its subscription to the Roscoff Marine Station. Council was asked to help in 1914, as the Station needed urgent aid. The last subscription was made in 1919, and Perez's predecessor was warned that the grant could not be continued. The Royal Society is not in a position to make grants and indeed needs financial assistance itself. The Roscoff grant was made from Trust Funds, but last year the Plymouth Marine Laboratory applied for, and was granted £60. He offers congratulations to Perez for taking over a laboratory with such a distinguished record. |
