Description | Informs Lord Rayleigh that the Radium Committee have agreed to loan him the radium chloride, and give permission for the radium to be dissolved in the usual way. Has consulted the Committee to see if there is any risk of the radium being lost in the process, and encloses a letter from Harrison Glew, who is assured that there is no danger but has information. Asks Rayleigh to come to the Royal Society to get the radium.
Adds a postscript that [Joseph John] Thomson has been concerned about the danger of the tube flying, and is writing a letter on the subject, which has not yet arrived. Asks Rayleigh not to handle the tube until they have heard what Thomson says. |
