' A seeries of tests prepared by Mr Cooper in pursuance of the Resolutions of the Council was produced and submitted to the inspection of the Committee, together with the diections communicated to him for making them. '

Resolved ' that application be made, on the part of this Committee, to the Managers of the Royal Institution to ascertain whether they have convenient space in their premises for erecting a Furnace for prosecuting experiments for the improvement of Glass for optical purposes, and whether they will permit this Committee at their own expense to erect the same, and prosecute the said experiments. '
