TitleMinutes of a meeting of the Meteorological Committee
Date15 September 1831
DescriptionPresent at the meeting: Mr Daniell in the chair; Captain Beaufort RN; Mr Children; Dr Roget

' Minutes of the last meeting were not read, as they could not be found.

The Chairman informed the Committee that £100 having been granted by the Council for fitting up the Apartment lent to the Society by the Council of the King's College as a Meteorological Observatory proposed tht the Committee should adjourn theither in order to inspect the same. '
Committee adjourned there.

' After the Committee had examined the building on the Terrace it was suggested by Captaiin Beaufort that previous to the Committee coming to any decision accepting it, it would be as well to be certain whether a still more eligible spot might not be found on the roof over the Society's apartments for the erecting of of a meteorological observatory. The committee therefore examined the roof, and discovered a platform immediately over the Library, which appeared to them to be extremely well adapted to the purpose and the Chairman was requested to consult Mr [?] as to the possibility of erecting small buildings as may be necessary thereon. '

Committee adjourned to the 22 September
