The minutes of the meeting held on 30 April 1963 were received and after emendation were confirmed

It was agreed to nominate -
a. Professor K C Dunham as the Royal Society's representative and head UK delegate at the International Geological Congress
b. Professor J H Taylor as the Royal Society's representative at eh Council Meeting of IUGS
It was noted that, in accordance with the Statutes of the International Geological Congress, the head delegates of the Congress cnstituted the Bureau
iv. Assistance for UK geologists to attend the Congress
v. International Indian Ocean Expedition Symposium
vi. Publications of Congress
It was resolved - that it be a recommendation to Council that (a) Professor K C Dunham be nominated to represent the Royal Society at the XXII International Geological Congress to be held in New Delhi in December 1964, (b) that Professor J H Taylor be nominated to represent the Royal Society at the Council Meeting of IUGS to be held during the Congress, (c) that a subcommittee consisting of Professor Taylor, Dr STubblefield, and Professor Dunham be appointed to allocate such funds as are available fro the Scientific Congresses Grant-in-Aid to assist UK geologists to attend the Congress, and (d) that a further subcommittee consisting of Professor Taylor (Convenor) Dr M N Hill, Dr A S Laughton, and Dr D Taylor-Smith, be appointed to (i) make recommendations to the Organizing Committee of the International Geological Congress regarding the organization of a Symposium on the REsults of the Internatinal Indian Ocean Expedition, to be held during the Congress, and in particular to recommend papers by British authors, and (ii) make recommendations to Council on the allocatin of funds to assist UK participants to attend the Symposium in consultation with the Subcommittee recommended in (c) above.
