DescriptionTo the criticisms of the Congresses that are cited, the British National Committee for Geology would add:

a. The extent of the scientific conflicts between the sectional and symposia programme;

b. The lack of time during the working day for the components of IUGS (its Commissions and affiliated Associations) to conduct their business;

c. The mismatching of the size of auditoria to the size of audience, particularly where the former is substantially too large for the number of session participants.
