It was reported that Council had appointed the following as members of the Royal Society Ordnance Survey Committee;
Sir Harrie Massey (Chairman; Sir Kingsley Dunham; Dr W Butterwell; Profesor Alan H Cook; Professor H C Darby; Professor J TCoppock; Major-General B St G Irwin; Mr G W Lennon

which Committee was to advise Council on the requirements of the scientific community in relation to the services of the Ordnance Survey and on recommendations to be made to the Ordnance Survey (from time to time) concerning such requirements and other activities of a purely scientific nature which might be carried out be the Ordnance Survey.
