1. Minutes of the previous meeting read and signed

2. Apologies for absence from Professor Milne and Professor Turner

3. Letter read of 3 August 1905 from G H Murray of the Treasury to The President, the Royal Society stating they see 'no sufficient reason for making a separate grant to the Seismic Committee of the British Association in aid of the cost of observations ' but would be happy with the rest of the proposals.
Also read the Report of Professor Schuster on the Conference held in Berlin in August last. [Printed Report cut and pasted into the minutes]

4. After discussion of the proposal to join the International Seismic Organisation, moved by Sir A Geikie, seconded by Professor Sschuster, it was ' resolved by 4 votes to 2 that the Council be recommended to advise H M Government to take part in the proposed International Seismological Organisation on the terms stated in the Treasury letter of August 3rd. '

5. Moved by Professor Pa6ry, seconded by Sir George Darwin and unanimously resolved ' that the Committee regret that H M Treasury do not see their way to the fulfilment of the first condition put forward by the Royal Society in its letter of 1 March 1905 as the Committee attach great importance to that letter.

6. The Committee expressed the hope that Professor Schuster will accept the chairmanship of the International Organisation in the event of its being offered to him. '
