14. Lecture by Professor Masevich It was reported that Professor Alla Masevich, Vice-President of the Astronomical Council of the USSR Academy of Sciences and Professor of Astrophysics at Moscow University, lectured at the Royal Society on 17 February 1960 under the auspices of the Committee, the subject being the scientific aspects of the Soviet space research programme.
15. Date of Next Meeting It was agreed that the next meeting of the Committee might take place in May 1960 under the chairmanship of Sir William Hodge.
Summary of Recommendations to Council; Minute 7 ---that the United Kingdom subscription to COSPAR in 1960 should be £3,000 in the first instance, with a possibililty of subscribing a further £2,000 in 1960, subject to the Committee being satisfied at a later date that the COSPAR budget proposals are acceptable. ' |
