Title | Letter from Sir David Bruce, Entebbe, Uganda, to Sir Michael Foster of the Malaria Committee |
Date | 29 May 1903 |
Description | Has had a wire that Dr Manson recommended Castellani to the post of bacteriologist in Uganda -- suggests that 'if Castellani comes out here before he finishes his report he will probably never send one in'. Offers to work up the clinical features of sleeping sickness if Low and Castellani have not done so. Asks if Capt Grieg is to consider himself a member of the committee. Asks about who will take over the equipment, and recommends a two-year investigation. Suggests Castellani 'be severely reprimanded'. Suggests a researcher be commissioned to find the insect carrier of Surra. p51. |
