Minutes of meeting of 5 November 1875 read and confimed

Report of receipt of authority from Mr W H H Slater to use balance due to him in paying debt to Mr Newton reported by Secretary

Resolved - recommendation to Council to ' publish reports of the Naturalists sent to Rodriguez and Kerguelen Island in a separate quarto form, together with such descriptions and illustrations as may be deemed necessary: and to give £100 from the Donation Fund for the preparation of illustrations. '

Letter read from Mr Gwyn Jeffreys and referred to the Committee by Council

Resolved that the Committee cannot recommend the Council to make any application for expenses to H M Government after considering letter from Admiralty of 28 April 1875 [Copy pasted into minutes]

Dr Gunther informed the Committee that no duplicates, besides a few specimens of fish, had been received at he British Museum, so the Committee recommended the Council ' to call Mr Gwyn Jeffreys' attention to the condition stated in paragraph 2 of the Admiralty letter, under which he was permitted to take advantage of the opportunity offered by the cruise of HMS Valorous. '
