Description ' The Expenditure Sub-committee of the Gassiot Committee, consulted by correspondence in January 1952, agreed to recommend that;
(i) a grant of £200 from the Air Ministry Grant-in-Aid be made to Professor F E Simon in connexion with his research on sampling the upper atmosphere.

(ii) a grant of £500 from the Air Ministry Grant-in-Aid be made to Professor H S W Massey in connexion with his work on electrical excitation functions. '
