Read the Minute of Council held on 29 October 1891 stating the terms of the Bond executed by Dr Gunning in favour of the Society [Printed extract pasted into the minutes]

Apologies received from Professor Lankester and explaing some of his views for administration of the Fund in the form of a letter

Resolutions agreed;
1. The three years interest from the Fund to be applied alternately for the promotion of Physical Science and Biology.
2. The Fund to be devoted to the furtherance of knowledge in some special direction
3. The following were considered fitting subjects for the application of the Fund, with others to be added -
a. Compilation and publication of a detailed list of all well authenticated spectra
b. Renewal from time to time of magnetic observations in the British Isles
c. Assistance to observers of various branches of natural history in foreign countries
d. Bacteriological observations in continuation of those carried on by the Water Research Committee, especially in the pathalogical direction

Secretary to contact certain Fellows for their opinion as the the best way of administering the Fund.
