Dr Wilkins reported that the Chancellor had appointed Saturday next for a meeting of the Committee of the Lords Referrers about Chelsey College to be at his house about ten of the clock, it was ordered that the President, Lord Bishop of Exeter, Sir Robert Moray, Sir Paul Neile, Dr Wilkins, Dr Goddard, Mr Palmer, Mr Henshaw, Mr Colwall, and Mr Oldenburg should be asked to attend the Committee.
Ordered that Sir Anthony Morgan be sent a note to ask him to be then present also.
Sir Paul Neile was asked to speak tomorrow at Whitehall to the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury, the Lord Bishop of London, the Lord Privy Seale, the Lord Ashby, to meet at the Lord Chancellors on the day. In case the Privy Seale should be at Whitehall tomorrow, Sir Robert Moray was asked to write to him about this meeting.
The List of the Fellows of the Royal Society was ordered to be printed by Wednesday next.
Ordered that a particular written summons be sent to the Princes of the Blood, and to as many of the Lords of the Society as are in town, in the form following;
'On Wednesday the eleventh of this instant April 1666 at two of the clock in the afternoon, the President, Council and Officers of the Royal Society for the remaining part of this present year, are to be elected, at the usual place in Gresham College.'
Ordered that the following form be printed and sent to the Fellows, for this extraordinary day;
'Whereas the usual time for the Annual Election could not be observed this year by reason of the Sicknesse: These are to give notice that the Royal Society, according to the power given to them by Charter, have appointed the eleventh day of April 1666, being Wednesday, for the Election of the Council and Officers of the Royal Society, for the remaining part of this year: At which Election your presence is expected, at two of the clock in the afternoon, at the usual place.'
The Amanuensis was appointed to have the Lists ready by next Wednesday, as also the Summons to be signed by the President.
