A Committee of the Council was appointed for auditing the Treasurer's accounts, namely the President, Dr Croon, Mr Mills, Mr Hill, Mr Oldenburg
There was a debate how to proceed with those members of the Society who have not yet sealed the Bond, nor pay, after which it was ordered that the Bond for payment of the weekly contributions to the Society be offered by their Clerk Mr Wicks to every member who has not yet sealed it, and that in case any person shall refuse to seal the Bond his final answer to be reported by the Clerk to the Council, so they may decide whether they ought to look upon such persons as a member of the Society or not.
Ordered that the two books by Mr Meibomius 'de Turemium fabrica' and 'de Proportionibus' be bought for the Society's Library.
Dr Croon and Mr Hill brought in their Report concerning the Postscript annexed to Lampas, namely; ' Whereas the Publisher of the Philosophical Transactiona hath made complaint to the Council of the Royal Society of wome passages in a late book or Mr Hooks intitled Lampas, and printed by the Printer of the said Society, reflecting on the integrity and faithfullness of the said Publisher in his management of the intelligence of the said Society, The Council hath thought to declare in behalfe of the Publisher aforesaid, That they kknew nothing of the publication of the said Book, and further, that the said Publisher hath carried himself faithfully and honestly inthe mangement of the intelligence of the Royal Society and given no just cause for any such reflexions. '
