Mr Hill asked to speak to an acquaintance of his who was a friend of Mr Green so he would speak to Mr Green about the meadow ground lying between Chelsey College and the Thames, and to report to the next meeting of the Council.
Resolved that the President, sir John Lowther, Mr Colwall, Mr Henshaw, Mr Hill discuss with Mr Cheny the area of ground lying next to the meadow nest to the Thames the possession of which ' has given us some disturbance '.
Ordered that the small charter books of the Society's Statutes and Charter be carried to Mr Lane with some queries; 1) whether they can demolish any part of the building now standing 2) Whether they may sell, dispose and any way alienate any part of the said materialle
Ordered Mr Wirks makes a copy of all the Orders that have been made concerning the Library to be delivered to the next Council.
Mr Perry preesented the Council with the printed catalogue of the Library of the Society, for which great work he has had the thanks of the Council.
Dr Gale asked to speak to Sir William Dugdale in order to procure the copy of the Doomesday Book now in the Heralds Office.
Resolved after the renewed debate that a Printer woudl be chosen for the Society
Mr Colwall asked, and it was agreed that the drawers of the Repository might be placed in the way of shelves.
Ordered that Mr Chiswells Charter be made by Mr Weeks by the next meeting.
Ordered that some catalogues well bound at the charge of the Society be provided to be presented to the following; the Lord Duke of Norfolk; Lord Arundel; Lord Thomas; Mr Charles Howard; Mr Edward Howard and to be left with Sir Theodore de Vane. |
