Ordered that the President move the Society, to demand again a body for dissection; as also to consider what may contribute to diving
Resolved, that the Form for the Summons of the Fellows of the Society for dissection be as follows; 'You are desired to take Notice that there will be an Anatomical Administration at Gresham College, to begin at --------day, at 10 of the clock precisely. '
Consideration was again given to how the Society could raise more revenue; Mr Howard mentioned soliciting a Grant from his Majesty of such lands as are left by the sea Sir Robert Moray suggested that the King might be moved to grant to the Society the reversion of the Mastership of the Savoy Sir Paule Neile moved that the King might be spokent to, to confer such offices of the Courts of Justice, or the Customhouse, as are in this Majesty's grant upon some members of the Society for the use of the whole.
It was asked that thjose f the Society who are lawuers would find out about the vacancies and reversions fo the places fo teh Law Courts; and Mr Colwall, about places of the Customhouse etc
Mr Hook was called in, and asked for some suggestions for experiments that might be useful and acceptable to the publick; he sugested that the experiment of the land-carriage and of a speedy conveyance of intelligence might be considered. |
