Ordered that the President be asked to move a resolution at the next meeting of the Society, that 'by reason of the present Contagion , it will be convenient to intermit their publique weekly Meetings, untill the Sicknesse doe cease; and the President, with the advice of the Council, summon them to meet again'.
Ordered that the Curator, Amanuensis and Operator be employed by the direction of any three of the Council during the intermission, in business concerning the design and work of the Society: of which three, the President, Vice President, Sir Robert Moray, Sir William Petty, Dr Goddard and the Treasurer, either of the Secretaries, Dr Croone or Mr Colwall shall be one.
Ordered that at the next meeting tomorrow of the Society, those that shall be present and are in arrears, shall be reminded of it by the President, and asked to pay them before the Society intermits their public meetings.
Ordered that having received Sir William Petty's report on the additions by Mr Graunt to his Observations upon the Bills of Mortalilty, the President be asked to license the reprinting of the book, together with such additions; and it was licensed accordingly.
Ordered that the President be asked to sign the Amanuensis' bill from Michaelmas 1664 to Midsummer 1665, being twenty one pounds, one shilling and sixpence |
