' These proposals were made to the Councell to be made into Laws -
That Every person newly elected a Member of the Royale Society do before his admission pay his admission money and give bond to pay his weekly contribution excepting Foreigners.
That no person be capable of being a Member of the Councill of the Society who hath not given bond to pay his weekly contributions or who hath not paid them till the Quarter day then last past.
That all persons admitted Fellows of the Royal Society since Michaelmas 1705 do within two months after demand pay their weekly contributions in arrier and give bond to pay them for the future except foreigners and that the Statute be put in execution against those shall [illegible]
Those proposed were severally balloted and approved of for the first time to the Statutes.
The President, Mr Roberts, Sir Godfrey Copley, Mr Hill, Mr Arbuthnot, Mr Herbert and whome the President pleases to call to his assistance were appointed a Committee to wait upon the Lord Hallifax Sir Christopher Wren or any other persons they shall think proper to contrive and sollicit the getting conveniences for the Society with the Cotton Library or any where else.
This was balloted for and approved.
The President the Treasurer Mr Hill Dr Sloane Mr Isted and Mr Herbert were appointed a Committee or any two of them whereof the President to be one to manage the Lawsuit relating to the Fee Farm rents. ' |
