' The Councill agreed to gratify Dr Papin in making Experiments, provided he acquaint the President and Society before hand of the Expences of such Experiments as are new.
Mr Cresner was proposed, balloted for, and approved of as a Candidate to be proposed to the Society.
The Councill agreed to the Presidents Proposal made last Councill ; and Mr Pitfield is desired to print this Order and give notice to all Members in arrear of the same; viz: That all arrears due from the Fellows unto Michaelmas 1707 should be remitted to as many of them as should before next November pay one years arrears due at last Michaelmas. And for the future, that as many Fellows as at the first day of November in this and all following Years shall be in two Years arrears or above, and are not excused by Order of Council, be omitted in the List of Fellows to be printed in the said November.
Dr Lister, Dr Moreland, Mr Petiver, Mr Halley, Dr Grew, Mr Derham, Mr Lowthorpe, Dr Mapletoft, Mr Mortimer, Dr Smith, Sir Christopher Wren, and Mr Thorpe were excused their payments.
Mr Thorpe was ordered twenty pounds Salary, due to him at Christmas last.
The President gave the Society twenty pounds instead of the like Summe he intended after his death; which was ordered to be put up by itself, and to be subject to such End or Benefaction as the President shall direct. ' |
