'Ordered that a book of Fishes of the best paper, curiously bound in Turkey Leather, with an Inscription of Dedication therein, as likewise five others bound also be presented to the President.
Ordered that the President be desired to licence Mr Newtons Book entitled Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematical and dedicated to the Society.
Ordered that Mr Hunt get some of the books of Fishes bound and lay them on the Table, at the time of the Meeting
Ordered that the book of Fishes be put into the Torn Catalogue, with directions to come to Mr Hunt for them.
Ordered that the Society to encourage the measuring a degree of the Earth, do give E. Halley 50 pounds or 50 books of Fishes, when he shall have measured a degree to the satisfction of Sir Christopher Wren, the President and Sir John Hoskyns.
Ordered that the Orders for the Payment of Mr Astons bills be paid in course as they are ordered, and that it be out of the first mony that comes in, except the necessary payments to Dr Papin, Mr Hunt and the expenxces of the Book of Fishes. ' |
