' Lord Foley was Sworn into the Council.
Monsieur Morand, Mr Garengeot, Mr David Durand, The Abbe de Molieres and George Heathcote Esqr. were Seperately put to the Ballot and approved as Candidates for Election.
Mr Bradshaw brought Notice from Mrs Ashley that Sir Thomas Clerk who is a joint Trustee to her fathers will being out of Town, She is obliged to defer Settling the Accompt of the late Treasurer till his Arrival.
Ordered that Dr Rutty be allowed to Send a Barrometer at the charge of the Society to the Reverend Mr Bellamy his correspondent at Bengall
The President represented the State of tthe Assembly of the Society as Subject to great Inconveniences through the Streightness of the Room where the Members meet.
And recommended it to the Council to consider of a proper way to make a larger meeting Room.
Which being taken into consideration it was Resolved That a Survey of the House Should be made for that End
And Thereupon Mr Theobald Mr Jones and Dr Rutty were proposed and appointed a Committee to take the View and to cnosult with proper Workman about the Strengths of the House in making any alteration that Shall be Necessary to be made in fitting up a proper Meeting Room for the Society.
Ordered that each Secretary be paid the Sum of fifty pounds as an Allowance for their Services to St Andrews Day
It was proposed to make an Allowance to the Secretaries for their Service in revising and digesting the Papers of the Society for briinging up the Letter Books and Register Books from the year 1713 to the present Time ; The further consideration of which was refered to the time when the Treasurers Accompts Shall be adjucted. ' |
