' The Council in consideration of the several Benefactions made by Mr Winthrop's Grandfather and Father, as well as several Benefactions of his own, thought proper to order the Bond of John Winthrop Esq to be delivered to him, and all Arrears and future Payments to be remitted him : which was put to the Ballot and carried unanimously in the affirmative.
Mr West proposed that Mr Tyler should have power ordered him to receive and give discharges to the Tenants fo the Royal Society for their arrears of Rents.
Ordered that James Tyler Gent. be impowered to collect, receive, and by such lawfull means as he shall be advised, to recover all Rents and arrears of Rents due or to grow due to the President, Council and Fellows of this Society, for all and every their Messuages, Lands, Tenements and Hereditaments situate and being in the Counties of London, Middlesex, Sussex and Lincolnshire, or any of them, or any part or parts thereof; and that his Receipts to the Tenant and Tenants of the said Premises and every of them : and that he be allowed the Sum of twelve pence in the Pound for all and every Sum and Sums of Money as he shall from time to time receive of such Tenant or Tenants of the said Premises or any part thereof by virtue of this Order : and that he do from time to time pay such Rents as he shall so receive to the Treasurer for the time being, whose Receipt shall be to the said James Tyler a sufficient discharge for the same. And that he do from time to time report his Proceedings in the Premises to the President and Council of this Society. Mr Folkes's Letter was agreed to, and it was Ordered that Mr Charles Stanhope's Bond be delivered to him on payment of the Money accordingly.
Mr Beeighton's Letter to Mr Hauksbee was read, and agreed that Mr Hauksbee give him up his Bond on the payment of the twelve Pounds on or before Michaelmass next.
Mr Tyler's Bill of £2:6:3. was balloted for and ordered. Dr STack's Bill for £11:17:5. was balloted for and ordered. ' |
