' Mr Tyler informed the Council that there was twenty Pounds remaining on Mr Staines's Bond, and that Mr Staines the father desired a fortnight's time more for the payment of the money he had engaged to pay for his Son.
It was agreed that Mr Tyler should accordingly grant him a fortnight more fromthis day : but in case he doth not then pay the money, to proceed to an Execution.
It was Proposed whether three score Pounds be allowed to Mr Machin for his Services to the Society, as one of the Secretaries, for the current year, commencing from the last payment in Novembr 1737 to the 30th November next : which was ballotted for and ordered unanimously.
Mr Hodgson made a Present of a Clock, which had belonged to his late Unkle Mr Flansteed, who made use of it for his Observtions at Greenwich. It goes thirteen months.
Thanks were ordered him : and as it wants a Case, he was desired to get a proper one, and the Society promise to pay for it. ' |
