' Lord Carpenter, Mr Folkes and Mr Hadley were elected a Committee with the President and one of the Secretaries, for auditing the Trasurer's Accompts on the part of the Council.
Mr Hauksbee's Salary of fifty Pounds was put to the Ballot, and ordered to be paid.
Mr Zollman's Salary of twenty Pounds was agreed to by Ballot, and ordered to be paid. Mr Theobald's Bill for firewood for £2.5.0. was agreed to by Ballot, and ordered to be paid.
Mr Richardson's Lease of the House in Crane-Court for twenty-one years was read over with the Counterpart : and being agreed to, was executed and signed by the President and Members of Council present : Mr Folkes, Mr West, Mr Theobald, Mr Collinson, Mr Paul, Mr Jones, Mr Graham, Dr Stuart, Dr Mortimer and Mr Machin.
Ordered that the House be insured at the Hand - in - Hand Office.
Ordered that a Screw be procured for putting the Seal to Deeds.
Some Debates arising concerning the Disposition of Sir Godfrey Copley's Legacy, the Minutes of Council of June 20 1717 relating thereto were read : and it appearing therein that the President was the only surviving Trustee for the disposition of the same; he directed that the five Pound Experiment for the last year should be assigned to Mr Belchier for his Experiment of colouring the Bones of living Animals by a Diet of Madder - Root.
The Papers of the Commercium epistolicum relating to the Invention of Fluxions were taken out of the Strong Box, and lent to Mr Jones, according to a former Order of Council. ' |
