Minutes of the last Council read

Mr Davall reported he had collected the money from the King's Warrant, which was £759-0-6d after Exchequer fees, of which £50 paid to Mr Maskelyne, cash remaining £709-0-6d.

Dr Birch read a letter of 30 July 1760 he had received from Mr Cleveland, Secretary to the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, agreeing to the provision of one of His Majesty's ships to carry the observers. [Transcript as part of the minutes]

Mr Maskelyne presented a list of expenses for a year's residence at Saint Helena and for the return voyage [itemised list as part of the minutes] as did Mr Charles Mason for his gratuity, expenses etc as Second to Mr Maskelyne in the expedition to Saint Helena [itemised list as part of minutes]. Both accepted.
