Mr Dixon's acceptance of the post confirmed, Mr Ellicott's assurance that the clock would be completed on time, and information from Mr Stephens of the Admiralty that the ship of war to go on another exercise after it had unloaded the observers on Bencoolen [Bengkulu, Sumatra, Indonesia] reported by Mr Birch

3. Appointment of Mr Robert Waddington to go to St Helena as Second to Mr Maskelyne on his agreement to the conditions proposed by Mr Mason, with expenses listed

4. Dr Morton to write a letter to the Chairman of the Court of Directors of the East India Company concerning His Majesty's support for the Transit of Venus Expedition, appointment of observers to St Helena and Bencoolen [Bengkulu] in the island of Sumatra [Indonesia], and asking for the Company's support in various practical matters.
