Ordered by ballot bill of £46-6-0d from Mr Mynde the Society's Engraver be paid

Moved by Dr Watson, seconded by Mr Burrow, British Museum to receive volumes of Transactions since their publication, and in future to be presented annually as they are to the universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

Letter of 27th February 1761 from Jeremiah Dixon, reporting the safe arrival at Sante Cruz in Tenerife on 22 February and stating the observers expecting to sail forwards on 28 February, read by Dr Birch

Dr Morton reported on a letter received dated 10 June 1761 from Anson, Henry Osborn, Charles Knowles, J Forbes and G Pocock addressed to the President announcing that John Harrison of Red Lyon Square having ' completed his time piece or Clock and Watch, ...in order to find the Longitude of a Ship at Sea ' and having applied to them as the Commisisoners appointed by the Act of the 12th Queen Anne for the discovery of Longitude, asking them to test his new instrument to verify its accuracy by experiment on a voyage to Jamaica. After discussion resolved unanimously to send a letter to Mr Cleveland Secretary of the Admiralty proposing a plan for an adequate trial of Mr Harrison's Time Keepers. [Letter transcribed into minutes]
