Instruments of the Society reported received by Mr Short from Messieurs Mason and Dixon

Report by Mr Maskelyne on the Sector made by Mr Syssons which was found defective.
Ordered;
1. The Sector to be brought to the Society's house, with Mr Maskelyne and Mr Syssons present at the opening of the cave containing the Sector; and other instruments to be caried to Mr Short in Surry Street. Resolved that the President, Lord Charles Cavendish, Mr Davall, Mr Raper and Mr Short, and any other member of the Council who wishes to attend to 'be a Committee to be present at the Opening and Examining the said Sector.'
2. Bill for £50 drawn upon the Treasurer by Mr Maskelyne on 25 January 1762 payable to Charles Hutchinson Esq be paid by the Treasurer
3. Discussed bill of £30 drawn in August 1761 by Mr Maskelyne for Charles Hutchinson which had been lost; Dr Baker however confirmed he had seen the bill in hands of Dr Manningham, and so Treasurer ordered he be paid. Document concerning the Bill of Exchange issued in 1761 acknowledging the action in case of the Society needing indemnifying listed in detail in minutes
4. Messrs Mason and Dixon ' deliver in to the Society a Copy of their Observations made at the Cape of Good Hope, on the Transit of Venus, with the particular times of the said Transit, and of the Eclipses of Jupiter's Satellites, reduced to apparent Time. '
5. That ' the Reverend Mr Maskelyne, and Messrs Mason and Dixon deliver in to the Council their Respective Accounts of their Expences. '
