Minutes of the last Counil were read
' Lord Royston, Mr Blake, Dr Wilbraham, Dr Parsons and Mr Robertson, being all the New Council present, who had not taken the Oath appointed by the Charter took the said Oath.
A Letter from Benjamin Franklin Esquire to the President and Council of the Royal Society, dated Philadelphia 29th May returning his thanks for the honour they have done him in bestowing on him the Gold Medal for the Year 1753 was read.
Mr Hauksbee was directed to inquire whether the £600 Bank Annuities, ordered by the last Council to be purchased by the Treasurer had been transferred to the account of the Society, and whether any new Letter of Attorney was necessary in Order to enable Mr Hauksbee to receive the Dividend. ' |
