Minutes of the last Council on the 17th October 1748 were read.

The President proposed that the usual salary of £60 and a further gratitude of 10 guineas should be paid to each of the two secretaries for the services.
Also the usual salary of £20 should be paid to the Foreign Secretary. Dr Stack proposed that as he had only just taken office a sum of £15 should be paid to the Executors Mr Tollman, former secretary and he would take £5.

Informed expenses by the President: £12 12s 2 1/2 d

Mr Hauksbee's bill for his salary and expenses: £4 6s 0d

Mr Montague's bill from binding books: £3 6s 0d

Mr Tyler presented a bill which contained the charge for Mrs Mazell's leases. The bill only contained half of what Mrs Mazell had agreed to pay and was therefore postponed.

Mentions that Sir Hans Sloane as surviving executor of Sir Godfrey Copley had recommended Dr James Bradley of the Society for the annual prize medal bestowed in Sir Godfrey's benefaction.

The President proposed that Lord Charles Cavendish, Nicholas Mann Esq and William Jones Esq were to join the President and one of the Secretaries as auditors on the part of the Council of the Treasurer'a Accounts.

Several workmen's bills for repairs were presented to the council.
