Minutes of last meeting read.

' The President acquainted the Council that he had procured the New Gold Medals to be struck pursuant to an order of the Council held the first of July 1748 which he produced to the Council, as was also the Dyes, which had been delivered to him pursuant to an order of the last Council: And likewise acquianted them that Sir Hans Sloane had bestowed the annual prize Medal on Mr Harrison the Inventor and maker of the Clock designed for finding out the Longitudes. And as there are no Medals left but the 12 lately struck he prioosed that one of these should be delivered to him in order to have Mr Harrison's name engraved on it.

Which was ordered accordingly, and then the remaining 11 Medals together with the Dyes were locked up in the Society's Strong Box.

Dr Chauncy was sworn of the Council. '

Discussion of Mr Horne's letter concerning the workmen's bills presented by Mr Hauksbee, and ordered to be paid. Hauksbee also rrported the payment of insurance on the Society's houses, and executed the Deed of Settlement as ordered

Payment of various bills ordered, including Mr Hauksbee's salary

Upon ballot, ordered
1. Each of Secretries to be paid £60 and a gratuity of 10 Guineas; Assistant Secretary £20 salary
2. President's bills for disbursements presented and ordered to be paid

Lord Charles Cavendish, William Sotheby Esq and James Burrow Esq chosen as Auditors of the Treasurer's Account

Ordered
3. That ' all former Orders of Council for the getting in of the Contributions due to the Society be revived. '
4. By order of the Earl of Macclesfield the widow of Brother William Jones Esq had delivered papers to him which might concern the Society, which he produced to the Council. Ordered the that ' the President be requested to look into them and give an account thereof. '
