' The minutes of the last Council, viz February first were read

Ordered by Ballot, that Mr Maskelyne's bill of £20 drawn upon the Society in favour of Mr Horner, be paid.

Mr Emanuel Mendes da Costa, Clerk of the Society, was elected by Ballot, Housekeeper to the Society, and was also Appointed to the Care of the Library and Repository: and he was ordered to provide a porter as usual.

Resolved that a Committee be appointed to inspect the State and Condition of the Library and Repository, And to report the same : and the Members of the Council present, and any others of the Council, who chuse to attend, be the said Committee. '
