' The Council taking into consideration the supposed Wreck of the Ship Egdon, wherein the instruments were sent to Messrs Mason and Dixon; and it appearing that the said Observers are already furnished sufficiently for the Work ordered by the Society. ordered, that a copy of the instructions drawn up by Mr Maskelyne, be transmitted to Messrs Mason and Dixon; and that half an ounce of Silver Wire be inclosed therewith; and that they be directed to proceed in their business, with the Instruments of the Proprietors now in their hands. Mr Burrow having paid to Mr Merry Merchant in London, the sum of Eleven Shillings and Sixpence, for Charges on Shipping Instruments on board the Ship Egdon; Ordered, that it be repaid Mr Burrow by Mr da Costa.
