' The Minutes of the last Council were read.

Ordered by ballot that the following bills be paid by the Treasurer viz;
Bromwich Sherwood etc for paper £0..14..4
Nuttall & Hadley repairing the Engine £7..13..4
Cowles for lamp lighting £4..4..0
Total £21..11..8

Captain Douglas attended the Council, and desired that the Instruments and other apparatus be lodged in the Dock - yard at Shereness the next wees; And Mr Maskelyne was desired to consult with Captain Campbell to expedite the same.

Drew up a Letter for the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, to request that the Observers be landed at the \North Cape by the 10th of May ; and that they continue there about two months after the time of the Traqnsit, to make sure their observatories.

Dr Bevis having prepared a translation of the late Statute respecting the election of foreigners, into the french tongue; Ordered, that 500 Copies of it be printed as soon as conveniently they can. '
