' The Astronomer Royal laid before the Council a bill of Messrs Wright & Co for 60 reams of Paper being for a years printing of the Greenwich Observations amounting to £94..10..0d and having certified the propriety of the Charge, the Council Resolved, that the payment thereof be recommended to the Board of Ordnance.

Resolved, That a new Carpet be provided for the Meeting Room, and also for the Antichamber on the Society of Antiquaries agreeing to pay half the price of the latter.

The President laid before the Council an Answer he received from the Vice Chancellor of Oxford to the Letter he wrote to him in consequence of the Resolution of Council of 26th of May last, concerning the printing of Dr Bradley's Observations and the same was ordered to be sited in the Guard book.

Resolved, That the Visitation of the Royal Observatory be held on Friday the 29th Instant, and that the Council together with Mr Aubert, Mr Dalrymple, Mr de Luc, Dr George Fordyce, Dr Herschel, Mr Smeaton, and the Reverend Mr Maskelyne be Visitors.

The Seal of the Corporation was affixed to the Diplomas of Professors Volta and Scarpa, and Messrs Delambre, De la Grange, Lhuilier and Pictet, who were at the last election chosen Members on the Foreign list, and each of the said Diplomas were signed by the President and by the Members of the Council present. '
