DescriptionPrinted minutes containing matters laid before Council, the Royal Society's governing body of Fellows, with records of decisions taken.

Commencing with a list of Council members present: William Thomas Brande; John George Children; Dr. Henry Holland; Reverend Dr. Philip Jennings; Charles Konig; Roderick Impey Murchison; Sir John Rennie; Peter Mark Roget; the Treasurer, John William Lubbock, in the chair.

Among matters discussed or noted: minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Letters from Charles Few, Covent Garden, 4 May and 25 November 1835, to John William Lubbock, full text entered into the minutes, with an extract of a letter from Mr. Hookey, 25 November 1835, to Charles Few: the £3,150 payable to the Royal Society for property in Coleman Street should be paid via the Court of Exchequer, rather than directly, Few appearing before Council with the appropriate deeds for the Society's seal. John George Children reported that the clock in Francis Beaufort's possession was not the Society's and therefore this had been given to the Astronomer Royal. List of bills ordered to be paid. Captain Beaufort applied on behalf of the Admiralty for volumes of Philosophical Transactions, granted for volumes where the Society held more than three copies. Sir Charles Bell applied to take 50 impressions from a plate accompanying his first paper, granted. Lord John Churchill applied for a grant of Philosophical Transactions on behalf of the Director of the United Services Museum. W. T. Brande, Michael Faraday and the Reverend Jennings appointed auditors of the Treasurer's accounts.
