TitleRecord of experiments: U-V light, metals, point-discharges, positive and negative charges and condensation
Date23 April 1898-1 March 1899
DescriptionThis is a small laboratory notebook containing the record of experiments carried out over the above period These experiments were first concerned with the effects of ultra-violet light, of metals and of point discharges, but on 31 October 1898, there appears to be the first attempt to compare the influence of positive and negative charges in promoting condensation. Between 7 January 1899 and 1 March 1899, new apparatus and new experiments for this purpose are described. It appears likely that these experimental records are the same as those which are summarised and written up more tidily in volume A3 under almost precisely the same date headings (cf notes on volume 3-7 January 1899-2 March 1899).
