Consists mainly of a very detailed study and critical discussion of observations of vertical electric fields made in the Antarctic by Bernacchi, 1902 and 1903 (British National Antarctic Expedition). There is an interesting critical discussion as to whether the apparent high positive potential gradient observed during drifting snow are real or spurious (i.e. an effect caused directly by snow crystals striking the recording apparatus). |
