Citation | Johannes Fridericus Weidler, LLD mathes profess primarius Vitem berginsis. A Gentleman very eminent for Mathematicall Learning; a curious Inquirer into the works of Nature. He is particularly recommended as a very fit and usefull Person for the Royal Society in a Letter from Dr Steigertahl FRS to the President. He hath been a constant Correspondent with the Society for Severall years, having communicated yearly his meteorologicall Observations. He is author of the following curious treatises. Observationes Meteorologicae & Astronomicae Ann 1728 1729. Dissertatio de meteoro lucido singulari, Anno 1730. mense Octobri conspecto. Explicatio Jovi labii Cassiniani. De praesenti Specularum Astronomicarum statu Dissort. De machinis Hydraulicis marlyonsi, Londinensi, & aliis rarioribus. Exercitationes duae de Lacrymis Vitreis & facibus noctu rotundam majoremque figuram mentientibus. Exercitatio de phosphoro mercuriali, praecipue de eo, qui in Barometro lucet, &c. Dissertatio de Tempestatum varietate, & investigandis veris ejusdem rationibus, &c. He is therefore propounded and recommended as a Candidate in order to his being elected a member of the Society, by Us |
