Citation | Monsieur de Boffrand of Paris, first Architect to the king, and Surveyor general of all his Works and Buildings; Author of a very Curious Book lately presented by him to this Royal Society, is desirous to offer himself a Candidate for the Honour of being Elected into the Same. And we whose names are underwritten, as well upon the very particular recommendation given of this Gentleman by Monsieur de Marian late Secretary of the Royal Academy of Sciences at Paris and a member of this Society: as upon his general reputation of his known merit, & distinguished Character, do accordingly propose him, and hereby recommend him as a Gentn of great knowledge and abilitys, well versed in Philosophical Learning, and well qualified to deserve a place in this Society, and likely to be a usefull Member and correspondent of the Same. |
