Citation | For - Foreign Member John Christian Oersted, Professor of Natural Philosophy, and Secretary of the Royal Academy of Sciences, at Copenhagen, having pursued, with great diligence and success, the investigation of the phenomena of electricity and magnetism, and having lately made some important discoveries, for which the Council of the Royal Society have thought it right to award him the Copleian medal, we recommend him as a person highly proper to stand on the list of the Foreign Members of the Society |
