Citation | Sir Edward Thomason of Birmingham in the County of Warwick Knight, is desirous to be come a Fellow of the Royal Society - Sir Edward has exerted his best endeavours during a Space of nearly 40 Years to improve the various branches of the Arts in Scientific research; and has reward for such individiual Merit, the honor of Knighthood from his own Sovereign, and also many distinguishd orders of Merit from foreign Potentates. - he was very active in the Originating of the Birmingham Philosophical Institution and in Common with other Fellows of that Society deliverd Lectures on some of the branches of Science. We whose names are hereunto Subscribed do of our personal knowledge recommend him likely to become a useful and valuable member |
