Author of many papers on Temperature of the Body - vid esp Proc Royal Society - 1870 and Journal Anat & Phys, 1872 and aided Clinical thermometry by following Traube and Wunderlich's observations, and by introducing short clinical thermometers into medical practice.
Author of numerous papers on the physiology and pof the Nervous System, vid esp original researches on Hydrophobia & Tetanus Path Soc Tr 1870-71 lately verified by Coates and Gowers, and The Ophthalmoscope in Medicine, Macmillan, 1870, being the only work on this special subject in England.
Author of papers on The Effect of Physical Strain upon the Heart & Great Vessels published in St George's Hospital Reports, 1871, and Die Ueberanstrengungen des Herzens. Hirchwald, 1875, Ed Seitz, and elsewhere.
Author of numerous Contributions to Physiology, Pathology & Therapeutics, including Electro therapeutics.
