Citation | Professor of Pathology, University of Glasgow. Distinguished as an experimental pathologist, particularly by his researches into the pathology of the blood, and blood-forming organs, and latterly upon the subject of immunity. Is the author of the following papers amongst others: - 'On the Normal Histology of the Blood, Blood Platelets, Bone Marrow, and Regeneration of the Blood' (Journ Anat Physiol, 1891-1893); 'On the Variation of the Corpuscles in Disease, and the Marrow Changes in Pernicious Anaemia, &c' (Journ Pathol, vols i and ii, and Brit Med Journ, 1900); 'On Leucocytosis and the Reaction in the Bone Marrow and other Leucocyte-forming Tissues in Response to Infection' (Brit Med Journ, 1898; Journ of Pathol, vol vii, and Trans Pathol Soc, 1902); 'On Haemolytic Sera' (Lancet, 1903, and Proc Roy Soc, 1904); 'On Deviation of Complement' (Journ of Hygiene, vol vi); 'On Opsonins' (Proc Roy Soc, 1907); 'On Normal Bacteriological Action of Serum' (Journ Pathol, 1908).
