Citation | Ex-Lecturer in Zoology in the University of Cambridge. Distinguished for his work on the Comparative Morphology of Invertebrates and on the Mechanics of Development. On these subjects his wide knowledge and comprehensive researches have gained for him everywhere a position of high authority. He is the author of numerous scientific memoirs, of which the following may be mentioned: 'On Nerve Terminations in the Selachian Cornea' (Journ Comp Neurol, vol viii); 'Studies on the Development of Larval Nephridia' Part I 'Phoronis' (Mitt Zool Stat Neapel, Bd xvii), and Part II 'Polygordius' (Phil Trans, B, 1907); 'On the Structure of the Nephridia of Dinophilus' (Quart Journ Micros Sci, vol 1); 'On the Anatomy of 'Histriobdelia Homari'' (ibid, vol lv); 'On the Development and Structure of the Trochophore of 'Hydroides uncinatus'' (ibid, vol lvi); 'On the Problem of Sex Determination in 'Dinophilus gyrociliatus' (ibid, vol lvii); and , with Mr W C DeMorgan and Mr H M Fuchs, 'On the Experimental Hybridisation of Echinoids' (Phil Trans,1914). |
