Title | Parks, William Arthur: certificate of election to the Royal Society |
Citation | Professor Parks is an ex-president of the Royal Society of Canada, of the Palaeontological Society of America, of the Royal Canadian Institute and of the Geological Section of the BAAS, also a past vice-president of the Geological Society of America. He has published numerous reports on the aerial and economic geology of Canada, particularly a series of five volumes on the Building and ornamental stones. He has made numerous contributions to both Vertebrate and Invertebrate Palaeontology including a series on American Stromatoporoids and on the Dinosaurs of Alberta of which he has described fifteen new species. He founded the Royal Ontario Museum of Palaeontology and in twenty years has developed it into a museum of the first rank. |
