Title | Goodey, Tom: certificate of election to the Royal Society |
Citation | Between 1922 and 1942 published 78 memoirs (list attached) on the morphology, systematics, life histories and economic significance of a wide range of Nematodes parasitic in plants and animals. These included new techniques for diagnosis and experimentation. Five further papers are at press (1943). Among his notable contributions are "Plant Parasitic Nematodes and the Diseases they cause" (1933), which has now become a classic, and "On a remarkable New Nematode Tylenchinema oscinellae n.g., n.sp., parasitic in Frit-Fly" Phil Trans CCXVIII (1930). A monograph on "Soil and Freshwater Nematodes" is approaching completion. He was also one of the pioneers in the study of Soil Protozoa. |
