Title | Frisch, Otto Robert: certificate of election to the Royal Society |
Description | Citation typed |
Citation | Distinguished for his contributions to nuclear physics. He has shown his deep insight unto physical processes in many important investigations into the properties and behaviour of neutrons in their interaction with matter. He is especially well known for the explanation, with Dr. Lise Meitner, of the fission process in uranium, which was quickly followed by experimental proof. He took a prominent part in the scientific work on the atomic bomb project both in this country and in the United States. He has also published important work on the properties of molecular rays. |
