Citation | In collaboration with F. London was the first to apply wave-mechanics to the explanation of the chemical bond (1927). Since 1933 has worked on collision problems. In 1937 was responsible with H J Bhabha for the accepted theory of cosmic ray showers. Since 1938 he has made several contributions to the theory of the meson, especially his explanation of the magnetic moments of the proton and neutron (with Frohlich and Kemmer) and his theory of cosmic ray mesons (with Hamiton and Peng). Author of "Quantum Theory of Radiation" 2nd ed. Oxford 1944. |
